More video lessons on playing jazz

People’s desire to learn through video has grown steadily through the years. A recent survey shows that 68% of consumers prefer watching videos to learn about new products and services. In fact, as of 2023, 92.3% of internet users worldwide watch digital videos weekly.

I have always enjoyed educating through video. Going back to my two video-based courses, Improvisation Savvy and Pocket Jazz, I’ve used video to illustrate complex topics like strengthening one’s sense of rhythm – to playing on one’s instrument what they hear in their mind – to developing a strong sense of relative pitch.

I took a break from producing a steady stream of videos while I created some new products like Groovz Playground and Jazz Master Chat, but I’m back creating new videos.

To begin the refresh of my YouTube channel, I create a new “trailer” video which describes by intent and what viewers will gain from my new videos.

My channel also includes videos I’ve created from my original music. Midjourney, the image generating AI, has allowed me to create the perfect images for these music videos.

But the focus of the channel is on educating musicians on becoming more skilled and satisfied with their improvisation. As I evolve in my thinking, I’ve realized that jazz players are not the only musicians my site and YouTube channel can help. After all, the great classical composers were also great improvisers, so in case you are thinking that classical music is limited only to the printed page, I beg to differ.

So subscribe to my YouTube channel, so that you can be alerted to new videos being produced on a regular basis like these:
