Bones, Bells, and Angels album

This is a collection of Christmas arrangements I’ve crafted over the past 10 years. Holiday time in each of those ten years was spent experimenting with new sounds and new musical challenges.

In recent years, jazz great Richie Beirach did rehamonizati0ns as a gift to me. Working within Richie’s harmonies always spurred me to produce something I would not have thought of absent of his influence. I thank him for that!

The result is a collection of treatments that are different. One reason for their difference is that the lead instrument for all but one is the alto trombone. If you don’t know what an alto trombone is, think of a smaller than ‘normal’ trombone with a fundamental a perfect fourth higher.
