These fourteen preludes were written for solo piano and invite pianists to explore both interpretation and creativity. As Gregor explains in the book, every prelude can also serve as a starting point for improvisation. Players are encouraged to add their own introductions, endings, and musical ideas, making each performance uniquely personal.

The collection grew out of a project Gregor originally called Stories from the New York Lockdown. During the challenging months of 2020, he began writing and practicing piano as a way to remain creative and hopeful. Every two weeks, he bicycled from Harlem to Queens to record a new composition, eventually creating an entire album that was released on one of his favorite labels in Munich, Solo Musica. What began as a personal creative journey became a beautifully expressive collection of original works for solo piano.
