Watching the movie Inception starring Leonardo DiCaprio, I heard a piece of a theme that I thought would work well for a loop. It’s a beautiful bit of harmony from the great Hans Zimmer. Don’t try to show off your technique as much as telling a slowly evolving story. This is an exercise in restraint!
This track is a four-bar loop made up of simple triads and a seventh chord that builds as the track progresses. As with the other loops, I’ve given you common tones, but only a couple are strong throughout the progression. You’ll need to use your ear to weave a cohesive melodic line through the four chords. It’s not difficult, it just requires you to be present throughout.
