Contemplation

Let’s consider this to be in the static key of C major. Even though the track has a moving bass line and alternating harmonic intervals throughout every four bars, the basic root of the harmony is C. 

While you could break this down to four chords, it’s often best to simplify harmonies in order to make them easier to improvise over. Try not to be distracted by the movement of the instruments and the three over two rhythm of the bells. Instead, listen deeply to the sounds and integrate your improvised composition within them.

There are many starting points for scale choices, and I selected only two ascending and descending. There are many common tones, but I selected them below in what I consider priority order.
