Southside Strut

This is good old fashioned two chord guitar funk.

There are lots of scales to use over this including blues scales, diminished scales, whole-tone scales… The basic Mixolydian scales for seventh chords is below, but please embellish!

The first phrase of the “Idea Starter” below ends on is C natural, which is a nice blue note. A track like this begs for some flat fifths and sharp nines.
