Bobby Shew part 2 of 2

"I'm blessed that somewhere along the line, this music and the sound and process of improvisation just ignited something in me and found me."

In part two of my conversation, Bobby spoke more about the musical process than the mechanics of playing.

He talked about being your own best teacher and how to practice for optimal results. He spoke of one of my favorite topics which is the idea of leading with your musical voice rather than with your instrument–the machine.

Last, he spoke about finding your authentic musical voice, and the role of copying your heroes, but only to a point.
