Who doesn’t know Jamey Aebersold and hasn’t become a better jazz player because of it? After seeing the finished interview, he wrote, “It’s good. Lots of information in a very folksy, homey way. . . that’s me.”
And that does sum up our conversation. Jamey is a born teacher. Mid-way through, he ran to get his sax in order to better demonstrate things and then turned around to play the piano. I know of no one more driven to helping people become better jazz players than Jamey Aebersold.
